Internshopping

I love shopping – even if it is just window shopping. There’s just a certain sense of joy you get when you’re out shopping that you can’t get any other way. However, shopping for internships (or jobs) is probably one of the most stressful things I have ever done. You have to consider the business and if their values line up with yours, the location you would temporarily be moving to, and so much more. Then you have to hope you get it!

Needless to say, I have found it difficult to find internship opportunities and to keep track of ones I’m interested in, their details, whether I have applied for them or not, and the contact information for each of them. So, I created an Internship Tracking Workbook and I am sharing it with you! I just created it as I am getting serious about internshopping, so it may need some tweaking. That, along with knowing that not everyone works the same way, the workbook allows for personalization. You can fill in the chart however you’d like, change column sizes, and even add/remove columns as you see fit. I have even made a  Internship Tracking Worksheet (a PDF version) that you can print off and fill out by hand if that works better for you.

After you have downloaded the workbook use the following list to fill it up. The list is made up of websites I have used to search for internships on. If you don’t see anything that interests you on these websites, remember that a lot of companies do not advertise their internship programs and you should feel free to reach out to companies that you would like to work for to ask about internship opportunities.

Leave a comment to let me know any updates you think would be great for the workbook, how you used it, and if you know of any other good sites to find internships on (I need them).  Also, remember this workbook can also be used for those who are job searching (seniors, that’s you). Another bonus: the workbook can always be a good resource to keep contact information for the companies you were interested in in the past.

Enjoy & happy internshopping!
