So I may be guilty trying to use song lyrics for a title. But hey, its kind of catchy, right? Any way, over the summer I was working out every day. I had an alternating routine of running or doing a Kayla Istines workout bright and early each morning. I was feeling great, and looking better too.
However, when school started I unconsciously pushed exercise to the back of my mind. By no means do I want to get up any earlier than I already do, and after walking around campus, going to class, working, and doing homework or studying, I definitely don’t feel like exercising later in the day. To add to those excuses, most of the time I don’t feel like going to the gym or leaving Dixie in her crate for any longer (I feel like a terrible parent when I leave her alone in her crate for more than 9 hours a day).
Needless to say, I haven’t worked out in a while and it is starting to catch up to me. So no more excuses! My solution: I am going to go back to working out at home like I did last semester. I can workout in-between other tasks (or at the same time), I don’t have to leave Dixie, and I can exercise any time I want.
While Pinterest has endless posts of at home workouts, my favorite workout that doesn’t require equipment or a lot of space and won’t annoy my neighbors below me is POP Pilates. I follow the Blogilates calendar and will sometimes add in other workouts from the target area printables. The printables are free (I am sure you have seen a few on Pinterest if you ever check out the fitness category); the calendar requires you to subscribe to the e-mails but they are also free! The only equipment I use is my yoga mat and that is just for the added comfort! Cassey Ho, the founder of POP Pilates, is very encouraging, preaches feeling good over looking good, and is very innovative with her exercises. Blogilates Bonus: Cassey also gives nutritional tips, has a book, and has her own active wear line.
