I love everything about weddings – from the dresses to the floral arrangements, the decor and venue, the vows, and everything in between. (However, I do have an extra bit of love for bridal gowns.) Needless to say, I was beyond excited for Bridal Fashion Week. I prepped by following every Snapchat and Instagram account I could to stay up to date on the new lines from each designer. Therefore, I spent an excessive amount of time on social media (but it was totally worth it).
Gowns made with feminine, light, and flowing fabric adorned with ruffles, feathers, and frills paraded down the runway. Gowns had straps that draped off the shoulder or were embellished to bring attention to the shoulders. There were plenty of plunging necklines and dresses decorated with capes, jewels, and 3D florals. The designers were all including asymmetrical lines and illusion details – in the sleeves, neckline, bodice, and even all over. The runway was full of the typical silhouettes along with a relatively new trend: the pantsuit.
These trends can be seen in a roundup of my favorite gowns from Bridal Week so far (want to see the photo a little bigger? just click on it):
A big thank you to Brides for sharing each gown with us and for the photos. What gown did you love the most from the runway? I would love to know!
