What to Wear: Summer Wedding Season

Wedding season is now in full swing So, if you are attending any type of wedding this summer, take a look at the dresses I have picked out from my fav store – yep, you guessed it – Riffraff. Pick one of these and you will be the best-dressed guest there!

For the black tie wedding:

If you are attending the formal black tie required wedding, you would look fabulous in any of these three dresses. You can make a grand entrance in either color of the Grand Entrance Maxi. The dress features a high slit that will show off your favorite pumps, and the high neckline calls for statement earrings (like some jumbo tassel earrings). If you want a simply elegant look, a pair of sleek statement earrings and the Summer Soiree dress is for you. P.S. Your summer glow will look perfect with this shade of pink.

For the beach wedding:

Choose one of these three dresses to wear to a beach wedding and you will be getting tons of compliments. The Sea Breeze swing dress is shown in grey (it also comes in blue) and features the cutest ruffles on the shoulders. Paired with sandals or wedges, this dress would be perfect! Ruffles aren’t your style? Try the Anchors Away striped swing dress. The sharp neckline is extremely flattering and would look perfect with a beachy up-do. The Show Me Your Mumu Light Lavender Crisp Lexington Mini Dress has the perfect breezy silhouette for a beach wedding. It even features super cute tassels on the back of the adjustable straps.

For the cocktail attire wedding:

I think this is the only type of wedding I have ever been to and I think is may be one of the most fun to go to. Usually a wedding that requires cocktail attire consists of lots of appetizers, drinks, and dancing. All three of these dresses would look perfect at the ceremony and on the dance floor. As a matter of fact, the dress on the left is called the Dance All Night Scalloped Shift Dress. This dress also comes in blush, but I think the black is a bit more fitting for the occasion. What I love about this dress is that it looks really cute layered with a top underneath it. The next dress is the East Hampton One Shoulder Dress – this dress is so flattering and fun while being extremely elegant. Or, you can be super trendy in the nude (also available in black) off the shoulder Mirror Mirror Satin Dress. Rock your favorite pumps with any of these dresses and you’ll be stunning.

*Disclaimer for the following content: I believe the attire for outdoor, daytime, and destination weddings are pretty interchangeable. However, I am breaking them up for this post.

For the outdoor wedding:

Appropriate attire for an outdoor wedding can vary depending on the venue – a winery, a garden, or a barn. So, I chose these two as my favorites because I feel like they are very versatile. I also realize that they are both floral and by no means am I suggesting you should dress like the outdoors for an outdoor wedding; I just like these prints. The Flare Well Floral Dress has such a flattering silhouette and has the super trendy cold-shoulder cut outs. This dress can be dressed up or down depending on the accessories worn with it. The Flower Fields Swing Dress is a little more casual, but still beautiful with contrasting bright pink flowers on the navy background. Both of these dresses have high-necklines (yay for not having to worry about a necklace) and look great with statement earrings.

For the daytime wedding:

I think that a daytime wedding can be the most fun to dress for because it gives you a little more freedom to wear something different. That is why I chose two very different dresses for this section. The Love Letter Wrap Maxi Dress is light and breezy. The hemline is unique and with the deep v neckline, this dress is very flattering. In contrast, the Show Me Your Mumu Rancho Mirage Lace Up Dress in the Wagon Wheel Cloud print is bright, short, and – obviously – printed. This dress is also very flattering, flows easily, and gives off a fun vibe with the lace up with tassels.

For the destination wedding:

If you are lucky enough to attend a destination wedding, I am jealous I am not your plus one. Destination weddings can also be very fun to dress for because you can definitely splurge on something new since your basically going on a vacation. Bring the heat in the Red Hot Midi Dress. This dress just makes me want to dance with an umbrella drink in my hand. Both of these dresses will have your tan (whether it’s a spray on or not) glowing, especially the Show Me Your Mumu Rochester Maxi Dress in Daffodil Chiffon. This dress has a secret super high slit that makes her oh-so-fun (but don’t worry, there’s a slip underneath). Chose either of these dresses and you will be the talk of the town – in a good way.

*This is not a sponsored post. Riffraff is just so awesome and has a dress for any occasion and I wanted to share that with you all. 🙂

**At the time that this post was originally published, each of these dresses were in stock. However, clothing at Riffraff sells out quickly, but don’t be discouraged because there are new arrivals every day of the week.

UPDATE: I just recently went to an evening wedding that took place on a golf course and ended up inside the country club for the reception. I wore the Breezy Day Tank Dress with my fav nude, strappy heels and had my best accessory on my arm (a.k.a. my handsome bf).
